Fouaad Mirza is the only Indian competitor to have qualified for the 15th edition of the World Equestrian Championships in Eventing. This year’s competition will take place at the historic equestrian facility Pratoni del Vivaro in Italy.
Fouaad Mirza, a renowned equestrian rider from India, will be competing in the FEI World Championship Eventing 2022, which will begin on Thursday in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. Fouaad Mirza’s goal is to bring honor and prestige to his home nation while competing in the event.
The only Indian athlete to have qualified for the 15th edition of the World Championship Eventing, which will be held at the historic equestrian venue Pratoni del Vivaro. Pratoni del Vivaro had previously hosted the Eventing discipline of the 1960 Rome Olympics. the Asian Games double silver medallist is the only Indian athlete to have qualified.

The Indian rider, who is 30 years old, commented on his participation in the Globe Championship, saying, “I am really delighted to participate in the World Championship at the historic location where elite riders from around the world will battle.” “I have put in a lot of work in Germany while I have been training for the event, and I am looking forward to giving it my all and bringing honor to the nation. Fouaad Mirza, who was born in Bengaluru, will take part in the tournament with his horses Seigneur Medicott (FEI ID 103UA93) and Dajara 4 (FEI ID 105ZR23). In the historic run that Mirza had in the Tokyo Olympics the year before, in which he became the first Indian player to make it all the way to the final, Seigneur Medicott was a key member of his team. It was also the same horse that Mirza rode to victory in both of her events at the 2018 Asian Games, earning her two silver medals.
The tournament will continue through September 25, and in addition to his two horses, Mirza will have a team of six support staff members to help him during the competition.
At the annual Eventing World Championship, the best 90 horse-and-athlete combinations from 27 different countries will compete for the title of best in the world. Some of these countries are Australia, the United States of America, New Zealand, France, and Great Britain.
