The riders that will compete for MDK Motorsports in the upcoming World Supercross Championship have all been named (WSX).
A few of weeks ago, Chad Reed was already selected to be one of the 450cc riders; nevertheless, there were still three openings beneath the tent.
Josh Grant, a former AMA Supercross race winner, will ride with Reed as the second 450 rider. Justin Bogle and Derek Drake will compete in the SX2 (250cc) category as the other two riders.
The 450 riders will be competing in the new series after having previously retired from the sport. When Grant competed in the AMA circuit for the final time in 2019, his final performance was an eighth-place finish in the 450 class at East Rutherford. At the conclusion of the 2020 AMA Supercross series in Salt Lake City, Reed achieved his highest finish of the year by placing 10th overall.
The WSX series will see Bogle compete in a 250 machine once again. The last time Bogle competed in a 250 race was in 2015, when he successfully defended his east coast regional title from the previous year. In the past, he has ridden KTMs, therefore he will bring with him a wealth of experience from his previous riding career. Before the start of the opening round of the WSX, Drake already has two seasons of experience racing in the Supercross series under his belt.
According to the pictures and videos that we’ve seen, Reed, Bogle, and Drake will compete on KTM 450 and 250 SX-F models, while Grant will ride a Honda CRF450R. Grant will be the only rider in the category to use a different make of motorcycle. The MDK motorcycles all have a white finish that is extremely reminiscent of the old look of the MDK team that competed in AMA Supercross. Reed is shown outfitted from head to toe in Alpinestars gear alongside Grant in his recognizable Fasthouse configuration. Bogle and Drake are both dressed in MDK clothing that is custom-branded by Canvas MX. They are both also wearing Bell helmets and Alpinestars boots.
